PVL: Creamline nears sweep
Creamline moved a victory away from sweeping the first round elims, out-steadying PacificTown Army in three tightly-fought sets, including two that went over the distance, 25-23, 28-26, 26-24, to pull away from the pack in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at the Filoil Flying V Center in San Juan last night.
Alyssa Valdez unloaded an 18-hit game, including 16 on attacks, and the rest played with so much grace and composure in each frame to thwart the Lady Troopers and extend their win run to seven in the nine-team field.
They shoot for the first round sweep against BaliPure on Saturday. The loss dropped PacificTown Army to joint fifth with BaliPure at 2-3.
Motolite is in second at 4-1.
Earlier, unable to finish off the Choco Mucho in three or four, PetroGazz used its superb blocking in the decider to finally clip the Flying Titans as the Angels carved out a 25-22, 25-15, 19-25, 20-25, 15-3 victory to enhance their own bid.
