NBL: CamSur sweeps home games

CAMSUR swept its home games over the weekend to solidify its chances for a playoff spot in the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 2.

The Express beat the Dasmariñas Ballers in overtime, 86-83, last Sunday, and won over the Zamboanga Valientes, 91-64, last Saturday to win all of their home games this weekend at the Jesse M. Robredo Coliseum in Naga City.

With the victories, CamSur capped the eliminations at seventh place with a 9-5 card and stepped closer to clinching a spot in the playoffs. The top eight teams at the end of the eliminations will advance to the playoffs.

Ronn Romana had 20 points and buried a triple with 17.3 seconds left in overtime to take the lead for the Express. Mark Sornet missed a three on the next possession for the Ballers to end the match.

Leonel Barde scored 25 points and shot 11 of 18 from the field in the Express’ victory over the Valientes.

In other results, CJ Gania had 25 points and 20 rebounds as the Pampanga Delta beat the Valientes, 98-81, last Sunday to improve their card to 10-3, tying the Taguig Generals at second place in the standings.

Terence Tumalip had 33 points and 10 rebounds as the Iriga City Oragons won over the Pampanga Delta, 98-84. The Oragons are tied with the Dasmariñas Ballers with a 9-5 record for the eighth and final playoff spot.
