UAAP: DLSU faces UST booters

De La Salle tries to join Far Eastern University on top of the table as it tangles with University of Santo Tomas as second action of the UAAP Season 81 men’s football tournament opens today at the FEU-Diliman pitch.

With 12 points, the Green Archers finished the first round three points off the Tamaraws, while the Growling Tigers have 10 points.

UST is actually level with Ateneo, but the España-based squad settled for fourth in the first round due to inferior goal difference.

Kickoff is at 3:30 p.m.

In other fixtures, defending champion University of the Philippines, seeking to put a disappointing first round behind, plays University of the East at 9 a.m., while vastly-improved sides Adamson University and National University collide at 1:30 p.m.

In what could be the hotly-contested Final Four ever, the four bottom teams are very much in contention, with three points separating from the fourth placer.

The Fighting Maroons, the Red Warriors and the Falcons are locked in a three-way tie in sixth place with seven points, while the Bulldogs are within the top four range with eight points.

Every precious point from now on is very crucial for all the teams.
