‘Musikaramay’ Basketball: 3-on-3 Para Sa Marawi on Nov. 6
Musikaramay or “musika na nakikiramay” is a community of people in the music industry wanting to be real-life superheroes through music. With the month of October marking its 4th year anniversary, Varxity Sports Consultancy celebrates its milestone with “busking for a cause.”
Musikaramay goes around the metro, setting up in public places to play for their chosen beneficiary. So far, they have raised funds for the following the past 4 years:
- Yolanda Survivors in Palo, Leyte
- Rehabilitation for Zamboanga Children
- SAF 44
- Kids with cancer at the National Children’s Hospital
- Raincoats, boots and umbrella donations to indigenous kids in Subic
At the moment, they have 20 scholars at the Blessed Ville Special School in Cavite, supported by donations from previous performances in the streets of Manila.
This time around, Musikaramay will be staging the Musikaramay Basketball: 3×3 Para sa Marawi, a FIBA-endorsed Basketball League powered by Triple Threat Manila.
On Nov. 6, 2017, 28 teams will render 7 hours of community basketball from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Cuneta Astrodome. 112 players composed of different personalities from the music industry will help raise funds for our displaced brothers and sisters in Marawi through the help of the Alagang Kapatid Foundation, Inc.
With the essence of “BAYANIHAN” coming to life again, the event will be co-presented by Globe Telecom thru the support of City Mayor Tony Calixto, Vice Mayor Boyet Del Rosario, Congresswoman Emi Calixto Rubiano, Councilor Ding Santos and members of Sangguniang Panlungsod and Office of Senator Sonny Angara.
