Apple Siri Speaker Price, Features, Release News and Updates: Popularity, Demand Rising Ahead of its Official Launch
Apple’s Siri speaker has not been officially launched but it is already gaining in popularity and demand. Analysts projected the company will mark Siri speaker’s big launch at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2017 event in California, which begins on Monday, June 5.
Anticipation is high for this new Apple hardware as the company hasn’t released any groundbreaking and widely-coveted device since the iPad in 2010. But how will the Siri speaker match with existing smart devices from competitions like Google and Amazon?
The Siri speaker is a home digital assistant that can access the owner’s digital music library on Apple Music or search the internet using a voice command. Speculations are that the Siri speaker will boast of a “virtual surround sound technology” that’s better than Google Home or Amazon Echo, as per Bloomberg.
According to Gizmodo, Apple’s Siri speaker might not have the most advanced features than the competition just yet because it will primarily be a high-quality wireless audio device. But it is projected that people will be demanding for the product because it’s from a trusted brand when it comes to quality.
According to a survey done by USA Today, there is potential for the Siri speaker to take off. Siri remains the most popular voice assistant for 33.7 percent users. Google and Amazon’s assistants were at 19.2 percent and six percent respectively. A separate survey from Stone Temple, however, revealed that Siri’s artificial intelligence could be inferior to Google’s Home and Amazon’s Alexa.
Google’s voice assistant powers Google Home, which was released in November 2016 in the U.S. and this April in Europe. Amazon’s assistant, Alexa, powers Amazon Echo, which was released in November 2014. Both devices do not offer Apple services, hence the Cupertino company trusts that its loyal customers will patronize its new hardware.
