NBI Sting Operation Uncovers Big Shabu Lab in San Juan; Six Arrested
The National Bureau of Investigation apprehended six people Friday afternoon, in San Juan City, Philippines via two different sting operations.
One NBI team caught a Taiwanese and three Filipino-Muslims outside the Jollibee branch in Anapolis Greenhills around 2:00 p.m. The suspects were on board a yellow Honda Jazz where six bags of Shabu were found. Each bag had between 16 to 17 packs of 1 kilogram contents, each estimated to be worth around PHP 5 million.
Following the arrest, the team proceeded to Little Baguio where another buy-bust operation also took place. The house located in Mangga St. was the home base of the suspects. Two Taiwanese nationals were apprehended.
Only the 10 bags from the buy-bust operation at Greenhills was accounted for with reportedly about 50 more bags being accounted for. Shabu-creation equipment, a Nissan Juke and a closed van were being inventoried as well as of this writing.
According to the NBI, this is now the biggest finished product Shabu buy-bust operation. They however added that there are more to come as they continue their surveillance in the fight against drugs in the metro.
