Paul Bettany To Star As The ‘Unabomber’ In ‘Manifesto’ TV Series on Discovery

Paul Bettany is playing a domestic terrorist on television. Cast as Ted Kaczynski, otherwise known as the “Unabomber,” the show will be airing on Discovery. The series will be called “Manifesto,” which will chart the downfall of the infamous personality.
“Manisfeto” will center on an FBI profiler, Jim Fitzgerald, who tracks down Ted Kaczynski. He used old school techniques to catch the criminal. The role of Fitzgerald have yet to be cast.
This is not the first TV show for Bettany though, but this is the first high-profile U.S. television production that he will be a part of. The actor is known for his roles in movies like “The Da Vinci Code” and “Wimbledon.” He is also part of Marvel’s “Avengers” movies, per Deadline.
“Manifesto” will be executive produced by Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti, who are working together on Netflix’s “House of Cards.” Greg Yaitanes has been tasked as the director as well as showrunner. The story will be written by Andrew Sodroski.
The show is earmarked for 2017 release. It is the second scripted series on the cable network, which largely airs documentaries and reality TV. “Manifesto” was first reported as in development in March, per Variety.
