‘The Night Shift’ Loses Ken Leung, Actor Confirms He Won’t Be In Season 4

“The Night Shift” Season 4 is returning minus one of its original stars. Ken Leung has opt out of his contract and won’t be playing Dr. Topher Zia anymore.

Deadline reports that the actor is choosing other projects at this point when he decided not to renew his contract on “The Night Shift” with NBC. His character is one of the emergency room doctors.

“The Night Shift” also stars Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Brendan Fehr, Robert Bailey Jr., JR Lemon, Tanaya Beatty and Scott Wolf. It is produced by Sony Television.

The show received a Season 4 renewal in early November.Launched in the summer of 2014, “The Night Shift” became a good performer during the summer season run, which is why it has earned a renewal.

Ken Leung, who was part of “Lost” and “Person of Interest” before “The Night Shift” is also seen in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” It’s still unclear what his next projects are.
