Converge ICT ties up with Linksys® to boost internet speeds to homes, businesses
Jesus “Boboy” Romero, COO of Converge ICT Solutions, explains the benefits of using the power fiber technology during the Linksys MU-MIMO launch recently at CAI Events Place in Pasig City
Pasig City—October 2016 — Converge ICT, a provider of world-class ICT products and personalized services to customers in the Philippines, has tied up with global networking solutions leader, Linksys®, in a bid to speed up internet connection for homes or businesses.
Both companies agreed to develop solutions using pure fiber technology and the newly-launched Linksys® Multi-User, Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output (MU-MIMO) routers to deliver high-speed internet to several devices simultaneously. This is expected to improve efficiencies both at home and for businesses.
“This partnership is in line with our thrust of improving the connectivity in our country. We believe that the MU-MIMO routers and our pure fiber internet packages will allow our customers to experience better connection be it for homes or businesses,” said Jesus Romero, Chief Operating Officer of Converge ICT.
Linksys® MU-MIMO-enabled routers are the first set of powerful routers distributed in the country. Recently, Linksys® launched two router models—the Max-Stream AC2600 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router (EA8500) and the Max-Stream AC1900 MU-MIMO Gigabit Wi-Fi Router (EA7500). These routers allow for improved Wi-Fi connectivity to all available devices within an area.
For instance, using MU-MIMO can allow users to stream movies, play video games, listen to music, shop online, download massive data, check e-mail, and more—all at the same time. Plus, the Max-Stream AC1900 can also allow for 4K and HD TV streaming ideal for video conferencing or watching high definition videos.
However, while these routers are efficient in bringing ideal and reliable wireless connection, they still need an equally powerful and efficient internet service.
“MU-MIMO routers are helpful in achieving higher bandwidth and lower ping rates. However, to attain the desired speeds, the internet service also matters. Ideally, it must also have the high-efficiency level, just like what Converge ICT can offer,” explained Jai Thampi, head of Linksys business unit for International Markets.
With the symmetric and unlimited connection from Converge ICT’s pure fiber, more than 30 devices – a combination of mobile phones, laptops, computers, and TV sets – can connect to the MU-MIMO without diminishing its allocated bandwidth, letting users enjoy the full potential of their connectivity.
“The partnership between Converge ICT and Linksys will surely give our customers a better experience,” added Romero. “We will introduce Linksys MU-MIMO router as an add-on to our existing array of internet solutions.”
With almost two decades of experience in cable and telecommunications, Converge ICT dedicated the power of pure fiber technology to provide better connectivity for Filipinos. With pure fiber’s capabilities for fast transmission of data, users can now experience speedy internet browsing, fast downloading and uploading bulk data online, uninterrupted telephone calls, clear reception of cable television channels, among others.
Converge ICT has rolled-out thousands of kilometers of fiber optic cables (FOC) beneath the ground using the latest micro-trenching technology. These cables stretch up to several kilometers and are capable of transmitting 100 Gbps.
To date, Converge ICT has already connected its fiber-powered capabilities to cities San Juan, Las Pinas, Manila, Quezon City, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Makati, Pasig, Taguig, CAMANAVA Area, Pasay, and Muntinlupa, Subic, Angeles and Tarlac.
