An ‘Enemy Of The State’ TV Show Is Coming To ABC, Is Will Smith Attached?

The 1998 spy movie “Enemy of the State” will be developed as a TV show on ABC. The reboot from Jerry Bruckheimer’s production studio will be set 20 years after the movie.

Accoring to TV Line , “Enemy of the State” on ABC will be about a male FBI agent who has to work with a woman lawyer. Together, they will work to topple a global conspiracy after an NSA spy exposed classified information.

No star has been attached to the series just yet. Will Smith starred in the movie along with Gene Hackman. But the film’s story is a lot different from the TV Show. Variety reports that the movie version earned $250 million at the box office two decades ago.

“Enemy of the State” for TV will be written be Morgan Foehl and it’s still unclear who will be the showrunner. The series is slated for the next TV season 2017-2018, should it pass pilot season.

The addition of “Enemy of the State” to ABC signals a shift in the network that largely caters to women audience. Recently, the show dip its toes in action drama with “Designated Survivor,” starring Kiefer Sutherland as the president of the U.S. The show is one of the most buzzed series this 2016-2017 season.
