‘Code Black’ Season 2 To Add A New Doctor Who’s A Lot Like Hermione Granger From ‘Harry Potter’
When the medical drama series “Code Black” returns for its second season in the fall, it will have a new doctor checking in. The upcoming character is going to definitely ruffle some feathers as she’s described as a former child star whose fame can be likened to Hermione Granger from “Harry Potter.”
The new doctor is Charlotte Piel, who gave up her acting career to get to medical school. In the “Code Black” universe, Piel had a popular life as a child star because of her participation in a big movie franchise. But as a resident doctor in the busiest hospital in California, Piel has to prove herself to her peers.
The character of Charlotte Piel is a semi-regular for now, but it can become a series regular. Casting is still underway for suitable actress.
“Code Black,” which debuted last season on CBS, stars Marcia Gay Harden as the head of the emergency trauma team. Last week, the show announced that it will let go of its two other main stars, Bonnie Somerville and Raza Jaffrey due to cast shakeup. More cast additions are expected to be announced as filming should begin shortly. The show is also looking to cast a more older actor to be one of its male lead.
“Code Black” Season 2 is expected to return on CBS this fall.
