“BrainDead” on CBS is a comedy and thriller like no other. The show, which is created by the the husband-wife team behind “The Good Wife,” depicts Washington, DC as a city with government officials with virus in their brains. It explains much of their appalling behavior.

In this newest teaser, “BrainDead” shows just how strange the capital of America is. The series is a satire on Capital Hill and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who is, perhaps the only one without an alien bug in her brain. The series also stars Danny Pino, Aaron Tveit, Tony Shalhoub, Nikki M. James, and Johnny Ray Gill .

“We wanted to do a show that was a mix of genre-pulp and high-brow politics – The Strain crossed with The West Wing,” said Robert and Michelle King to Entertainment Weekly, when the show was announced in 2015.  “It seemed like the best way to address the news today – not straight, but as the opening act of a horror movie.”

“BrainDead” will begin on Monday, June 13 at 10 p.m. on CBS.

The show’s official synopsis below:

The event series is a comic-thriller set in the world of Washington, D.C. politics that follows Laurel (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), a young, fresh-faced Hill staffer who discovers two things: the government has stopped working, and bugs are eating the brains of Congress members and Hill staffers.
