Drew Barrymore is going to be a familiar fixture on television with a slate of upcoming projects. In the latest news, the actress has signed up as the narrator to “First Date,” which is a reality TV show produced by Ellen DeGeneres. It is based on a British series that circles on first dates, as the name implies. Then at the end of the episode, the participants will decide if they will agree to another date.
“First Date” has no airing yet, but the show will begin production in the summer. It will be aired on NBC and it’s set for an eight-episode run. The date of the filming puts the series ready by mid-season or the next summer.
But this isn’t the first TV project that Drew Barrymore is doing for the 2016-2017 season starting in the fall. She is also doing a romantic drama, “Santa Clarita Diet,” for Netflix. In this TV show, the actress is partnered with Timothy Olyphant. It is expected for release on the streaming site next year.
Barrymore is also producing “Blooms,” a series set for MTV and she will have a guest stint on “Odd Mom Out” on Bravo for its second season. The actress is ramping up her TV career in light of her recent divorce announcement. Drew Barrymore was married to Wil Kopelman and they have two young girls together.
