‘UnReal’ Adds ‘Forever’ Actor Ioan Gruffudd
Ioan Gruffudd is joining the second season of “UnReal” on Lifetime. The former star of “Forever” will be paired opposite Quinn King, who is played by Constance Zimmer.
Gruffudd’s character, John Booth, is a recurring role and he’s described as a tech billionaire with a “with the breezy demeanor of a man who owns the world,” per Variety. When the show ended its first season, Quinn broke up with her lover, Chet, who is also the co-creator of the dating show within the series called “Everlasting.” Chet is played by Craig Bierko.
The new love interest should spark more interest as the series heats up on its return. There’s also the drama on “Everlasting” to look forward to as this time, the dating show contestants are setting their sites on Darius Hill. BJ Britt was cast for this part earlier.
Gruffudd was last seen in the crime drama series “Forever” on ABC, which was cancelled in 2014 after one season and despite fan petitions to bring it back. The actor is also popularly known as Mr. Fantastic in the 2005 “Fantastic Four” film,
“UnReal” also stars Shiri Appleby as th show’s producer, Rachel. The drama series tackles what goes on behind-the-scenes of a reality dating contest. It will premiere Season 2 on June 6.
