Bill Cosby’s wife says she never read sex assault deposition

BOSTON – The wife of Bill Cosby has testified she never read a deposition in which her husband acknowledged he gave sedatives to women he was planning to have sex with.

An excerpt of Camille Cosby’s testimony last month was released Monday as part of request by Bill Cosby’s lawyers to suspend a civil lawsuit against him in Massachusetts while a criminal case is pending in Pennsylvania. Cosby is charged with sexually assaulting former university employee Andrea Constand.

The actor-comedian acknowledged in a 2005 deposition in the Constand case that he gave qualudes to at least one woman and unidentified others he wanted to have sex with.

Camille Cosby says in her recent testimony she and her husband discussed the deposition, but she wouldn’t reveal details of their discussion, citing marital privilege. (AP)
