Watch: Chris Daughtry Rehearse for ‘The Passion’ Live Musical [VIDEO]

Fox is mounting its next live musical, “The Passion” on Palm Sunday, March 20 at 8 p.m. and one of the event series’ star, Chris Daughtry, is featured in this new video release from the network.

Daughtry plays Judas in the special, whom he claims was a challenge to play being the least beloved character in the story. “Portraying that struggle, that’s what really interests me about the character, because it’s something that’s very human, and very relatable,” he said per Entertainment Weekly.

“The Passion” is not an adaptation of “Jesus Christ Superstar” stageplay, but rather it’s set in modern day and features pop rock songs. In fact, one of the songs Daughtry will sing is “Bring Me To Life,” which he says will be tackled differently from the original.

Multi-awarded singer Seal is also part of the special, as he plays the role of Pontius Pilate.
