Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Cover 2016: Ronda Rousey, Ashley Graham, Hailey Clauson Chosen As Cover Girls
Sports Illustrated has done a first in its 52 years in the business. The magazine has chosen three different women to grace their 2016 swimsuit edition as cover girls.
Ronda Rousey, Ashley Graham and Hailey Clauson will each be gracing the anticipated issue in separate releases.
“The three covers of Hailey, Ronda and Ashley celebrate the new SI Swimsuit. All three women are beautiful, sexy and strong. Beauty is not cookie cutter. Beauty is not ‘one size fits all.’ Beauty is all around us and that became especially obvious to me while shooting and editing this year’s issue,” stated Assistant Managing Editor MJ Day via Sports Illustrated.
“I really feel like the media presents a very cookie-cutter image for women to aspire to, which for certain body types it’s just not realistic or healthy. I love that all the covers are three different body types in their healthiest form,” Rousey said via People.
In announcing the cover, the girls couldn’t contain their excitement as they got up on stage and learned they were all going to be in it.
