‘Friends’ Star Courteney Cox to Star in New Comedy on Fox
After the success of “Friends” and the end of “Cougar Town,” actress Courteney Cox is charting a TV return on Fox.
The network is said to be developing a single-camera comedy with the actress playing the lead. The project remains untitled, but Robert Padnick (“The Office” and “Man Seeking Woman”) has been tasked to write the script to the pilot.
The show will center on a woman named Hailey whose billionaire husband dies. She then finds out that having money isn’t exactly a ticket to the glamorous life and helping others is not always an easy task.
The show will be produced by ABC Studios and will have Cox serving as executive producer as well. James Griffiths has been tapped as pilot director.
The news comes as the television industry is on the heels of its pilot season and development deals are shaping what the TV slate will be like for 2016-2017 beginning September.
