CES 2016: New Dash Cams from Car and Driver and Summit CE Group
Summit CE Group announces their partnership with Hearst Brand Development to launch a new line of Car and Driver-branded dash cams at the International Consumer Electronics Show, January 6-9 in Las Vegas (booth #14617).
The new line of dash cams, created with one of the country’s leading automotive magazines, is the ultimate eyewitness recording of everything that occurs on the road and features crisp 1080p recording, loop recording, accident/motion detection, auto on/off, parking mode, night vision to Wide Dynamic Range, GPS logger, lane departure warning, speed alerts, WiFi, 3G and Android-powered touch screen models. All models are plug and play and hardwire installation is not required.
As distracted driving continues to result in crashes, dash cams and related technologies are more vital than ever. In fact, the National Safety Council reports that from January to June 2015, there were nearly 2.3 million “serious injuries,” a 30-percent jump when compared to 2014. With gas prices so low, more drivers are on the road contributing to roughly 5.5 million accidents annually. Dash cam video footage can quickly and decisively settle disputes and are widely used by police departments.
As one of the most innovative and competitive companies in its industry, Summit CE Group has over 50 years of experience in the designing and manufacturing of consumer electronics. The Car and Driver dash cams have been thoughtfully designed to fit every budget, and the line will be priced from $39-$299, available in spring 2016 at leading consumer electronic stores, auto care, and online retailers.
