Chega! , a Portuguese term which means STOP! Enough! is the final product of the series of consultations, listening processes conducted by the Commission for Reception, Truth and Reconciliation in Timor Leste, which captures the narratives of the victims of violence in the country from 1974-1999 under the rule of Indonesia. The report also contains recommendations and steps forward in addressing the issue of human rights violations in the country.
Recognizing the common colonization history of the Philippines and East Timor, the valuable contribution of solidarity groups in the country in their struggle for self-determination, the Philippines significant contribution in peacekeeping in Timor Leste and the key role nuns and priests have played in the various communities in the country, the P-CAVR deemed it appropriate to do a launch of the report in the Philippines.
