The 20-year-old model – who recently split from Joe Jonas – is having a great time with the former One Direction singer, according to her mother Yolanda Foster.

She told Entertainment Tonight: “I haven’t met him yet. Gigi’s 20 years old, loving life, shopping like she should.

“I haven’t met him yet, so I can’t say anything about him.”

Meanwhile, Gigi’s friends are reportedly unhappy about her relationship with the 22-year-old singer.

A source said: “Her friends do not quite understand what the attraction is. He is not her usual type, he doesn’t share her sense of humour or ease with people [and] he’s a little more self-aware and awkward.”

Gigi also recently took to Twitter to defend her relationship with the former boy band member.

In a post that has since been deleted, she is said to have wrote: “Sometimes life happens. For whatever reason in whatever timing. And sometimes it doesn’t make sense till it does. That’s it.

“If there was a real way to sit with each one of you and tell you my side of things, I would. But there’s not, so I won’t. I’ve found the only way to happiness is by living as though the microscope isn’t there.”

When one fan accused their relationship of being fake, she supposedly wrote back: “Who are you to say what is fake? Your comment proves my point exactly. If you don’t know you don’t know.”
