‘The Girlfriend Experience’ First Teaser Revealed; Starz Series Coming In 2106
Steven Soderberg’s “The Girlfriend Experience” has been in the works for television for sometime now. Adapted from the 2009 movie with the same title, the show is expected to air on Starz by 2016.
The series follows a law school girl named Christine Reade (played by Riley Keough) who also works as an intern at Kirkland & Allen, a Chicago firm. When a classmate at the Chicago-Burnham Law School shares her a secret about “transational relationships,” Christine took interest and decided to become a GFE. Now working as a woman who provides “The Girlfriend Experience,” Christine engages in sexual and emotional relationships with men for price. She’s quickly drawn to the rush, intimacy and control of her new and different world.
The show is described as an anthology series from Soderberg along with Lodge Kerrigan and Amy Seimetz. It will have 13 half-hour episodes. The TV show also stars Mary Lynn Rajskub, Paul Sparks and Kate Lyn Sheil.
