Of the freshmen shows set to begin this coming fall season of television, it’s “Supergirl” and “Scream Queen” that are getting much attention from social media users.

In a research conducted by ListenFirst Media, “Supergirl” has received at least 15.5 million engagements following the presentation of the series during the upfronts in May. The show, which is an adaptation of the comic hero from DC comics, is set to begin on Oct. 26 on CBS.

“Scream Queen,” on the other hand, has had 14.3 million engagements so far. The horror comedy is set to debut on Fox on Sept. 22.

Another superhero series, “Legends of Tomorrow” is also gaining a strong following on social media, with 8.7 million engagement. The show will be airing on The CW.

NBC’s reboot of “Heroes” called “Heroes Reborn” has earned 7.4 million engagement, while in the fifth ranking is ABC’s “Quantico” with 2.5 million engagement.

Completing the top 10 list are: ABC’s “The Muppets” (2.5 million), Fox’s “Minority Report” (2.3 million), Fox’s “Grandfathered” (2.0 million), Fox’s “The Grinder” (1.5 million) and CBS’ “Limitless” (1.4 million), according to Variety.

Buzz on social media are different from actual ratings, however. Ratings are what determines whether the show stays or air or gets cancelled.  But the buzz does help network see how much excitement there is from among potential viewers.

Fall season TV officially rolls by the third week of September.
