Josh Charles surprised everyone with his exit on “The Good Wife” on CBS last season. Now, the actor is making a bid for a TV comeback with a major role in Showtime’s “Masters of Sex.”
Charles is set to play the role of Daniel Logan in the upcoming season of the period drama “Masters of Sex.” The character is described as “a self-made businessman working in the scent industry,” according to the press release published on Entertainment Weekly.
“In an attempt to bottle the smell of sex and market an aphrodisiac to the general public, Dan seeks out Masters (Michael Sheen) and Johnson’s (Lizzy Caplan) expertise on desire. A charismatic salesman, Dan’s involvement with Masters and Johnson becomes complicated,” adds the press release. The character of Dan has been reportedly involved with Johnson in real life.
The role marks the actors return to television after being killed off on “The Good Wife” in Season 5. Leaving the critically-acclaimed drama series had been the actor’s decision, after his contract with the show ended. He relayed the details of his departure in an interview with David Letterman last year.
Charles will also be part of the upcoming Netflix revival/sequel of “Wet Hot American Summer,” and has appeared as guest in Amy Schumer’s Comedy Central show.
“Masters of Sex” will kick off its third season this coming July 12 in 1966 and the lead characters will be dealing with their study coming into light in a wider scope. The sexual researches will be publicly and nationally known, according to TV Line.
