Production has been underway for Netflix’s “The Umbrella Academy” season 2. Graphic novel and series creator Gerald Way has actually posted a video to confirm that work has started on the set.
Way shared the clip on Instagram as a sneak peek to “The Umbrella Academy” season 2. He showed the actors during the script reading to prepare them for filming the episodes.
“You guys we have some amazing stuff for you this season can’t wait for you to see it,” actress Emmy Raver-Lampman, who plays Allison Hargreeves, in “The Umbrella Academy” season 2 said in the teaser.
“You know who’s back? Ben is back. That’s right you guys. We are so excited to finally have the family back together to start shooting season two of ‘Umbrella Academy,’” actor Justin H. Min, who plays Ben Hargreeves, revealed.
The cast has also been quite active on social media of late to signal that they will soon be back on the set. Aside from Raver-Lampman and Min, the series also stars Ellen Page (as Vanya Hargreeves), Tom Hopper (as Luther Hargreeves), David Castaneda (as Diego Hargreeves), Robert Sheehan (as Klaus Hargreeves) and Aidan Gallagher (as Number Five).
The show is about a family of superheroes who has been reunited as adults because their father died. Soon, family secrets begin to unravel, including one that could cause a major catastrophe in the world.
“The Umbrella Academy” debuted on Netflix last February 2019. According to the streaming platform, 45 million viewers watched the series within a month of its release, per IGN. The series scored a second season renewal in April.
The first season wrapped up with a big cliffhanger but details to the second season have been quite scarce. Graphic novel followers of the show, however, speculate that “The Umbrella Academy” season 2 will delve more into the past to tie up some loose ends to correct the future.
