‘Last Man Standing’ Fox revival might lose stars

The revival of “Last Man Standing” on FOX might not have some of its original stars back. According to reports, a few of the actors have not yet signed on now that the show has gotten a new lease on life after its cancellation on ABC.

TV Line reported that Molly Ephraim and Kaitlyn Dever, who play Mandy and Eve Baxter, respectively, have not yet closed any deals with FOX for “Last Man Standing” season 7. Amanda Fuller, who plays Kristin Baxter, have already expressed she’s on the cast of the revived show full time.

Ephraim and Dever’s negotiations with FOX isn’t done but the young stars will likely have recurring roles on the comedy series instead of regular appearances.

One star, however, who is reportedly not returning to the series anymore is Flynn Morrison. The boy plays Boyd, Kristin’s son, but there’s no word from FOX about his return, recurring or full time. Insiders say that Morrison could be recast. A younger actor might step in to play Boyd.

Recasting the Baxter daughters, however, might not be an easy process ince Mandy and Eve are vital to “Last Man Standing.”

The show, which originally ran for six seasons on ABC, was pulled out after the 2016 season. It sparked talks that the network made the decision as a political move. Tim Allen, the star of the show, is a conservative as is his character, Mike Baxter.

ABC, however, denied that this was the case and said that “Last Man Standing” wasn’t rating well on its Friday slot. It was actually ABC’s highest program for that schedule.

Meanwhile, it’s been a year since the show has been gone off the air. FOX revived the series as inspired by the popularity of “Roseanne,” another show about a conservative family. Ironically, “Roseanne” also got the axed recently despite its skyrocketing ratings because of its star’s racist tweets.
