In “Emerald City,” Adria Arjona plays an older Dorothy who is transported to a different place during a tornado. Together with her police dog, she discovers a world filled with warriors, black magic and violence. The Wizard is played by Vincent D’ Onofrio.
The first teaser has been posted on “Emerald City’s” Facebook page, which you can watch below. The treatment has the signature of director Tarsem Singh who is known for his visual extravagance. “Emerald City” might remind viewers of “Game of Thrones” based on this.
“Emerald City” was developed by Matthew Arnold and there are no expected musical numbers. The series premieres on NBC Jan. 7, 2017.
