With 3 of four teams already out of the running for the PBA Commissioners Cup, PBA Operations Chief Ricky Santos in a television interview bared that the four eliminated teams may enjoy certain incentives come the next conference, the PBA Governors Cup.

According to him, eliminated teams may be allowed to field in imports of unlimited height. However, this will only be allowed after a proper computation of each team’s performance from the Philippine Cup and Commissioners Cup.

60% will be given to the team’s performance during the PBA Philippine Cup while 40% shall be computed from their standing in the ongoing PBA Commissioners Cup.

Based on their performance, the two teams that will most likely be allowed are Kia Carnival and the Blackwater Elite.

Hence Kia, the team of boxer Manny Pacquiao, will be allowed to field in man-mountain Peter John (PJ) Ramos once again where the set height limit is 6-foot-5.

The same goes for Blackwater Elite who may field Marcus Douthit once again.

With the PBA Governors Cup set to start on May 5, Douthit would likely be available after reinforcing the Gilas Cadet squad which is slated to participate in the 2015 SEABA Championship from April 27 to May 3, 2015 in Singapore.

San Miguel Beer on the other hand will most likely stick it out with Arizona Reid while the fourth team will be known after the Barangay Ginebra-Alaska Aces match.

If the Aces fall to the Kings, the Aces will likely have to settle for the set limit for imports. If they win, Globalport Batang Pier will be eliminated and will most likely be allowed to field in an import with unlimited height once their record for both conferences is tabulated.
