HIRAIDAI reimagines Baby Shark in new family-focused collaboration music video
A global children’s anthem takes on a new form as HIRAIDAI releases his reinterpretation of “Baby Shark,” accompanied by a collaboration music video that reshapes the viral hit into a relaxed, family-centered experience.
Released digitally on April 15, HIRAIDAI’s version of “Baby Shark” moves away from its high-energy pop identity and into a softer acoustic space. The original “Baby Shark Dance” by Pinkfong remains a global record-holder with over 16.8 billion YouTube views, continuing to dominate children’s entertainment worldwide.

Reworking a viral global hit into a personal sound
HIRAIDAI’s version reflects a shift in his musical direction following fatherhood, with a growing focus on songs that connect with family life. After the birth of his second child, his recent projects have increasingly leaned toward shared listening experiences between parents and children.
His October release “f.r.i.e.n.d.s” already showcased this direction by involving children of fans in its chorus sections during performances. The same audience-driven approach now extends into his reinterpretation of “Baby Shark.”
Festival-linked visuals and acoustic arrangement
The track is rearranged using a light ukulele-driven sound, giving it a softer and more relaxed tone compared to the original version. The intention is to make the song suitable for everyday environments, from home listening to casual group singalongs.
The music video builds on this concept through animation and festival storytelling. “Baby Shark” characters appear alongside “Turfy Dog,” the mascot of HIRAIDAI’s beach festival THE BEACH TRIP. Within the visual narrative, the characters collaborate to construct a stage before performing with HIRAIDAI, who appears playing the ukulele.
The crossover blends music video storytelling with festival branding, creating a unified visual theme centered on playfulness and collaboration.
The project also extends beyond digital release. A themed “Baby Shark” booth will be featured at HIRAIDAI presents THE BEACH TRIP 2026 starting May 4, offering interactive activities tied to the collaboration.
Through this release, HIRAIDAI reframes a globally recognized children’s song into a more intimate and grounded interpretation focused on family connection and shared musical moments.
