LIL LEAGUE marks new era with second album ‘NEOMATIC’
LIL LEAGUE continues its rapid rise as one of Japan’s most exciting young pop acts, celebrating its third anniversary with the release of its second full-length album, “NEOMATIC.” The six-member dance, vocal, and rap group represents the next generation of EXILE TRIBE artists, combining youthful energy with fearless creativity.
Formed through LDH’s largest-ever audition project, “iCON Z ~Dreams for Children~,” LIL LEAGUE claimed the Grand Prix title from a pool of 48,000 applicants. Since then, the group has steadily built momentum, establishing a growing fan base in Japan and beyond.
“NEOMATIC” will be available digitally starting Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2026, with the physical edition scheduled for release on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. The album title reflects the group’s determination to usher in a new era of music and performance while defining their own unmistakable identity.
A bold statement for a new generation
The album brings together fan-favorite releases spanning from the 2024 summer hit “Youth Spark” to the latest single “Manatsu no Hanabi,” alongside several brand-new tracks. Each song showcases LIL LEAGUE’s evolving sound, blending sharp choreography, expressive vocals, and confident rap performances.
Leading the project is the striking title track “LILMATIC,” which boldly samples Beethoven’s “Für Elise” and fuses classical elements with hip hop. The result is a fresh, genre-blending sound that reinforces the group’s individuality and ambition.
“Because the song blends classical music with hip hop, it felt both nostalgic and like stepping into a completely new genre at the same time,” leader SENA IWAKI said. “The melody motif was originally written for piano, so it was quite challenging to layer the lyrics and vocals on top of it. Interpreting the lyrics and the background as the song came together was the most enjoyable part.”
Expanding their sound and global vision
“NEOMATIC” also includes “Wonder Island,” the official theme song of LIL LEAGUE LIVE TOUR 2026 “Wonder Island,” which ran from January through Feb. 3, 2026. The track captures the group’s energy on stage and reflects their growing confidence as live performers.
A special video edition of the album will feature the music video and behind-the-scenes footage for “LILMATIC,” along with music videos for “Youth Spark,” “Shigeki Saiyūsen,” and “Manatsu no Hanabi.” Fans will also get exclusive footage from LIL LEAGUE’s segment at NEO EXILE SPECIAL LIVE 2025, held on Friday, Dec. 26, 2025.
Looking ahead, SENA shared the group’s aspirations for the year. He expressed gratitude for the growing international support, particularly from Southeast Asia, and emphasized their desire to continue refining their craft with the goal of performing directly for overseas fans.
With “NEOMATIC,” LIL LEAGUE opens a new chapter in its journey, strengthening its presence in Japan while preparing to connect with a broader audience across Southeast Asia.
