The Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), is inviting applications for a new scholarship program. The initiative targets unemployed dependents of GSIS members and pensioners in Legazpi, Cebu, and Davao, providing opportunities for practical skills training and better employment prospects.

Program details and eligibility

Under the program, TESDA will offer region-specific courses: Cookery for Legazpi nominees, Automotive Services for Cebu, and Bread and Pastry for Davao. Nominees must enroll in the course assigned to their region and meet TESDA’s qualifications.

Eligible applicants include the spouse, child, or sibling of a GSIS member or pensioner. Nominees must be at least 18 years old at the start of training, unemployed at the time of nomination, and residents of the participating region. Active GSIS members must have permanent employment, Salary Grade 15 or below, and six months of updated premium payments. Pensioners may nominate one beneficiary each.

Application process and selection

Applications will be accepted from January 20 to February 18, 2026. Forms are available at GSIS Legazpi, Cebu, and Davao branches, and must be submitted with proof of relationship, such as a birth certificate or marriage contract.

Scholarship slots will prioritize members and pensioners with the lowest basic annual salary or monthly pension. In case of ties, applicants with longer service will be given preference. Branch offices will validate applications, and GSIS will notify successful nominees via their registered email or mobile number.
