GAC made a commanding presence at the 13th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) with the launch of two all-new electric vehicle models — the AION V and HYPTEC HT — and the first Philippine showcase of its global strategic model, the AION UT.

Under the theme “GAC Global Ecosystem — Leading a New Era of Green Mobility in the Philippines,” GAC officially introduced the AION V and HYPTEC HT battery electric vehicles (BEVs) while unveiling the AION UT for the first time in the country following its success in Thailand. The automaker also showcased hybrid models, the M8 PHEV and EMKOO HEV, highlighting a diversified approach toward sustainable transportation.

Together, these vehicles signal GAC’s growing role in the Philippines’ shift to cleaner mobility and its determination to strengthen its foothold in Southeast Asia’s fast-developing EV market.

Electric mobility for every lifestyle

The AION V, a high-quality long-range BEV SUV, was built for urban professionals and families. It features GAC’s advanced Magazine Battery 2.0 technology, rated fireproof even under impact, and offers a 520 km range (CLTC). It charges from 30% to 80% in just 16 minutes via DC fast charging. With a 2,775 mm wheelbase and suspension designed for Philippine road conditions, it delivers a balance of comfort, safety, and practicality.

The HYPTEC HT, meanwhile, serves as GAC’s flagship electric SUV — blending cutting-edge design and luxury. Its dual-stage electric gullwing doors, Nappa leather cabin, reclining rear seats, and 14.6-inch HD infotainment system powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8155 make it an intelligent, high-end option. Built with submarine-grade steel, it ensures durability and advanced occupant protection.

Making its Philippine debut, the AION UT targets younger, tech-savvy buyers. Following a record-breaking launch in Thailand, where it hit 1,000 deliveries in just 39 days, the AION UT brings youthful design and smart features to the fore. It also strengthens GAC AION’s position as the fastest-growing EV brand to reach one million global sales.

Expanding GAC’s footprint through localization

At the summit, GAC also presented its latest hybrid models — the M8 PHEV, a premium plug-in hybrid MPV, and the EMKOO HEV, a new-generation hybrid SUV. Both underline the brand’s multi-path electrification strategy, giving Filipino consumers broader green mobility options.

GAC’s local growth is driven by its “ONE GAC 2.0” strategy, which emphasizes sustainable expansion and localization. Since entering the Philippine market in 2018, the company has established over 30 dealerships nationwide and posted a 65% year-on-year sales increase in 2024 — proof of rising consumer confidence in the brand.

Calvin Cheng, General Manager of GAC International Philippines, said, “Our localization strategy has been the cornerstone of our growth. We are not just launching new models but also investing in people, partnerships, and the country’s EV ecosystem.”

GAC also rolled out an Exclusive Launch Privilege Package for early adopters of the AION V and HYPTEC HT. For only ₱999, buyers receive ₱99,999 worth of bonuses including a 7kW wall charger, portable charger, free tint, car cover, floor mats, three-year registration and insurance, and ₱10,000 cash discount — underscoring GAC’s push to make EV ownership more accessible.

With its strong R&D network across China, Italy, and the U.S., GAC aims to combine quality, technology, and local collaboration to build a sustainable, distinctly Filipino EV future.
