Canon showcases advanced printing solutions at Tanzania’s Print Pack Sign Expo 2025

Canon Central North Africa (CCNA) unveiled a range of commercial printing solutions at the Print Pack Sign Expo 2025 in Dar es Salaam, positioning the company to meet rising demand from Tanzania’s expanding print, packaging and interior décor markets.
The company’s exhibit featured three experiential innovation zones with live demonstrations and on-site technical support. Canon highlighted equipment and workflows aimed at packaging, signage, CAD/GIS output and interior décor, targeting local businesses that are shifting from traditional offset into digital print production.
Commercial print and CAD/GIS solutions
In the commercial print zone, Canon showcased the imagePRESS V1000, a digital press that delivers high-resolution color across a wide variety of substrates and finishes, including matte and embossed stocks. Canon positioned the device for packaging and marketing collateral, noting its automation and digital workflow tools that improve turnaround and consistency for growing packaging firms.
The CAD and GIS zone featured large-format imagePROGRAF models, including the TM255 and TC-20, built for fast, vibrant output of drawings, banners, signage and booklets. These inkjet solutions address the scalability and cost-efficiency needs of architects, engineers and print service providers as demand for technical prints and large-format signage rises.
Interior décor, demos and market support
Canon also presented the Colorado and Arizona series in an interior décor zone. The Colorado series, using UVgel technology, produces durable, high-resolution prints suitable for wall graphics and textile applications. The Arizona flatbed line supports rigid substrates such as wood, acrylic and glass, enabling bespoke décor and point-of-sale installations.
The demonstration areas included real-world samples—envelopes, brochures, labels, packaging prototypes and décor panels—while Canon specialists conducted live walkthroughs to show end-to-end workflows. The company emphasized training, local service and partnerships to help Tanzanian firms adopt and scale these technologies.
“Our participation at Print Pack Sign Expo marks a significant step in bringing Canon’s latest technology closer to Tanzanian customers,” said Amine Djouahra, B2B business unit director, Canon Central & North Africa. “We are committed to empowering local businesses with innovative, reliable print solutions that help them compete on a global scale.”
Market research cited at the expo points to continued sector growth: the broader printing market in Tanzania is expected to expand at a compound annual growth rate of about 5.9% between 2025 and 2031, while the interior décor e-commerce segment is projected to reach roughly US$63 million by 2025 and grow strongly thereafter. Canon framed its presence as a strategic response to these trends, offering scalable hardware, software and support to meet evolving local needs.
Canon said the Dar es Salaam showcase is part of its wider effort to strengthen regional service networks, deliver hands-on training and shorten turnaround times for customers across East Africa.
