Basketball Champions League: Star Lineup revealed, Korkmaz named Best Young Player

During the Basketball Champions League Final Four Gala Dinner on Saturday, a couple of season prizes were awarded. Besides the MVP of the Season, the Best Plays (Dunk, Assist, Block), the Best Young Player and the Star Lineup awards were announced during the Gala Diner, in presence of participating clubs, representatives of the City and Government of Tenerife, European Leagues, FIBA and Basketball Champions League senior officials.

The following awards were announced:

• MVP of the Season: Jordan THEODORE (Banvit)
• Best Young Player: Furkan KORKMAZ (Banvit)
• Star Lineup: Jordan THEODORE (Banvit), Zack WRIGHT (AS Monaco), Melvin EJIM (Umana Reyer Venezia), Aaron DOORNEKAMP (Iberostar Tenerife), Georgios BOGRIS (Iberostar Tenerife)
• Best Assist: Branko MIRKOVIC (CSM CSU Oradea)

Best Block: Kelvin MARTIN (MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg)

Best Dunk: Bandja SY (ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne)

The Star Lineup was chosen according to a public vote which was equally distributed: 1/3 of the votes from the fans, 1/3 of the votes from media representatives, and 1/3 of the votes from the coaches of the 40 participating teams.

In addition, the Star Lineup Second Best Team has been announced, and is formed by William HATCHER (Partizan), Gediminas ORELIK (Banvit), Chris KRAMER (EWE Baskets Oldenburg), Dusan SAKOTA (AEK) and Vladimir STIMAC (Besiktas Sompo Japan).

The MVP of the Season, the Best Young Player and the Star Lineup awards will be given later this season at the winners’ respective arena, in front of their home crowd.
