‘Fifty Shades’ Dakota Johnson’s Next Project Could Be An Amazon Series
On the heels of the launch of the “Fifty Shades” sequel, Dakota Johnson could soon be working on her next project. The actress could star in a new series on the streaming site Amazon.
Deadline reports that Amazon has won the bid for the spec script of “Unfit.” Written by Melissa London Hilfers, the project is described as political fact-based drama. Dakota Johnson is being eyed to star in the show. Her casting, however, has not yet been confirmed.
Below is the logline of the series: “In the not-so-distant past, America was gripped by a political movement that promised to eliminate the “unfit” from our country. This is the shocking true story of Carrie Buck, a young Virginia woman who became a lightning rod for that movement and was forced to singlehandedly fight against it for the one thing she desperately wanted – to be a mother.”
“Unfit” supposedly snagged a six-figure deal with Amazon, while Hilfers used to work as a litigation lawyer.
Meanwhile, Johson has been busy promoting “Fifty Shades Darker” where she plays Anastasia Steele opposite Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey. But being in an erotic movie, the actress said that everything she says is interpreted as sexual. “It is truly, categorically impossible for me to get it right [even] when I’m not wildly taken out of context.”
