MPT South Launches ‘Bayani Ka: Bayani ng Kalsada Book 2’ to Promote Road Safety Among Children
MPT South Unveils “Bayani Ka: Bayani ng Kalsada Book 2” at National Library of the Philippines to Empower Young Road Safety Champions
Metro Pacific Tollways South (MPT South), a subsidiary of Metro Pacific Tollways Corp. (MPTC), has launched an inspiring new activity book titled “Bayani Ka: Bayani ng Kalsada Book 2” at the National Library of the Philippines. Designed to educate and empower children, this vibrant activity book aims to transform young readers into road safety champions within their communities. With engaging stories, colorful illustrations, and interactive content, “Bayani Ka” serves as an invaluable resource for schools and families, emphasizing the importance of road safety in a fun and impactful way.
The launch event, led by Arlette V. Capistrano, Vice President for Communication and Stakeholder Management of MPT South, featured the symbolic turnover of “Bayani Ka” activity books to the National Library of the Philippines. Joining her were MPTC Chief Corporate Governance and Risk Officer and Head of Sustainability, Atty. Cynthia Casino, and Dr. Angelito Umali, Health and Nutrition Officer representing UNICEF. The books were gratefully received by Mr. Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano, Director of the National Library of the Philippines, alongside Assistant Director Mr. Eduardo B. Quiros, and various local library representatives.
In a significant contribution to promoting road safety, MPT South will donate a total of 2,000 copies of “Bayani Ka Book 2” to public libraries and partner institutions across Metro Manila and CALABARZON. These efforts are part of MPT South’s ongoing commitment to fostering safety and responsibility on the roads, starting with the youngest members of society.
“MPT South conceptualized this campaign, ‘Bayani Ka: Bayani ng Kalsada Book 2,’ to empower children with the knowledge and confidence they need to navigate the streets safely. By distributing this book to schools, we hope to instill lifelong habits of safety and responsibility in our youngest citizens,” said Arlette V. Capistrano.
Director Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano highlighted the book’s importance as an educational tool, stating, “This book will serve as a learning tool for teaching children about road safety, providing them with the essential knowledge to navigate the world safely. It empowers young minds about the importance of knowing traffic rules and pedestrian safety, protecting them from any harm they may encounter on the road.”
