Prince’s Band Is Reuniting and Mounting a Show

When he doing his shows at the start of his career, music superstar Prince had backup band called the Revolution. They announced today that they will be reuniting in light of the singer’s sudden death.

Revolution announced that they will be performing together again in a Facebook post. Members Brown Mark, Wendy Melvoin, Lisa Coleman, Bobby Z. and Matt “Doctor” Fink were all present in the video. Melvoin spoke for the group and said that they have been grieving together since Prince’s death. “We want to let you know that we’ll be there soon, so we want to let you know now,” Melvoin said in the video.

Revolution performed with Prince since the 70s and have expanded to include other members from the band called Family. But the group disbanded in mid-80s following their final show with Prince in the Hit n Run — Parade Tour. Over the years, some members of the group continue to perform with the prolific singer, and sometimes even without Prince. For now, the band has not detailed when and where they will be holding the reunion concert, according to Rolling Stones.

Prince was found unconscious in his home in Paisley Park in Minnesota on Thursday, April 21. Hours after news of his death surfaced, the singer’s songs have climbed the music charts and continue to dominate  album sales online. The reason for his death is still unknown despite an autopsy conducted Friday. His body was cremated over the weekend with family and close friends attending the funeral.
