No Charger, No Problem: GAC GS4 MAX HEV Is a Hybrid for Families
Many first-time hybrid shoppers get stuck on one question: Will the family have to change its routine? For the GAC GS4 Max HEV, the answer is no. This self-charging hybrid SUV needs no home charger and no hunt for charging stations.
GAC positions the GS4 Max HEV as a mainstream hybrid SUV for Filipino families. Refueling stays as familiar as pulling into a regular gas station, so school runs, grocery trips and weekend drives carry on as usual.
GAC GS4 Max HEV: Self-Charging Hybrid Power
The GS4 Max HEV pairs a 2.0-liter Atkinson-cycle hybrid engine with an electric motor. Together, they deliver 232 horsepower and 300 N·m of maximum motor torque, which GAC says provides the pull needed when the SUV is fully loaded.
The system shifts between electric power, hybrid drive, engine operation and energy recuperation on its own, so drivers do not have to pick modes manually. GAC cites a combined range of up to 1,250 kilometers on one tank, based on approved test parameters.
Instant motor response is meant to ease stop-and-go city traffic and support highway merging and passing. GAC also points to a composed ride, a quiet cabin and supportive seats designed to reduce fatigue on longer drives.
Hybrid SUV Space, Warranty and Price
The GS4 Max HEV rides on a 2,750 mm wheelbase and has a 1,901 mm wide body. That gives both rows ample legroom and shoulder room. Rear air vents, storage areas and a panoramic roof with an electric sunshade complete the cabin.
Trunk space starts at 638 liters and grows to 1,586 liters with the 40/60 split-folding second row down. GAC says that is enough for roughly five golf bags or up to 10 large pieces of luggage.
Ownership support includes a five-year or 150,000 km basic warranty. The power battery, driving motor and motor control unit are covered for eight years or 150,000 km. GAC also cites 30 dealerships nationwide and two years of free roadside assistance.
