Ballistik Boyz Make a Powerful Statement With ‘Blast’
Ballistik Boyz are turning hard-earned experience into their latest musical statement. The seven-member Japanese group has released its new EP, “Blast,” trading romantic themes for songs about friendship, struggle and pushing forward.
The EP arrived digitally on Sept. 11, ahead of its physical release on Sept. 16. Across the project, Ballistik Boyz focus on the messy realities behind ambition and the people who help them keep moving.
Ballistik Boyz Put Real Life at the Heart of “Blast”
The shift is clear when “Blast” is compared with April’s “Beat.” That EP explored love and complicated emotions, while the new release turns toward perseverance, friendship and the pressure of chasing bigger dreams.
Its lead song, “Too Good To End,” centers on making the most of time because nothing lasts forever. The track was written by Kenya Fujita and Helge Moen, with Kanata Okajima, Moen, ZEN and Zack Auslander credited as composers.
The song also places shared memories at the center of the group’s story. The phrase “Our Place” reflects a sense of belonging built through the people who have traveled alongside Ballistik Boyz throughout their journey.
The accompanying music video pushes that idea further without relying on a flashy concept. Directed by Spikey John, it shows the members laughing, spending time together and enjoying a brief escape from their daily routines.
“Blast” Adds a New Chapter to Ballistik Boyz’s Rise
The EP also looks beyond one emotional theme, with each track tackling a different part of the group’s journey. “It’s a long way” focuses on the distance between ambition and achievement, while “In Our Lifetime” explores the bonds formed through shared experiences.
“Do Don PA!!” brings a more energetic finish to the project. The July single takes its title from a phrase meaning “break through,” matching the group’s message of moving ahead through both difficult and joyful moments.
That mindset has been shaped by years of activity beyond Japan. Ballistik Boyz spent six months in Thailand beginning in 2022, where the members trained, performed and worked with local artists as part of their overseas development.
Now, “Blast” arrives as the group moves into its next major live chapter. Ballistik Boyz are scheduled for arena shows in Hyogo on Oct. 17 and 18, followed by a Tokyo performance at Ariake Arena on Nov. 3.
With “Blast,” Ballistik Boyz are not simply presenting another collection of new songs. The EP puts their friendships, setbacks and ambitions at the center, offering a closer look at the experiences shaping the group as it continues to grow.
