Xbox Gamers, Meet 8BitDo’s Most Advanced Controller Yet
8BitDo has unveiled its most advanced controller yet, and Xbox players are the first to get their hands on it. Pre-orders for the Ultimate 3E Controller are now open across Europe and the UK.
Independent distributor Game Outlet Europe announced the launch Tuesday. The new pad is built for gamers who demand precision, durability, and full customization.
TMR Tech Promises to End Stick Drift for Good
The Ultimate 3E’s biggest upgrade is its joystick technology. It uses Tunneling Magnetoresistance, or TMR, sensors to deliver sub-millimeter precision and virtually eliminate stick drift.
That’s paired with the Hall-Effect impulse triggers already familiar to 8BitDo fans. Together, the two technologies promise friction-free smoothness and customizable rumble feedback for competitive play.
The controller also includes two-stage physical trigger stops. These allow for instant, hair-trigger response, a feature built specifically with competitive shooters in mind.
Modular Design Lets Gamers Build Their Perfect Controller
Beyond raw performance, the Ultimate 3E is designed for on-the-fly customization. Players can swap between silicone membrane and tactile micro-switch ABXY modules depending on their preference.
The controller also supports interchangeable D-pads and multiple thumbstick combinations. A modular magnetic faceplate rounds out the customization options, letting players tailor ergonomics to their exact liking.
For serious competitors, the Ultimate 3E adds two remappable rear paddles and dedicated top shoulder bumpers. When connected to a PC, it also supports a 1000Hz polling rate and 6-axis gyro motion control.
The controller is officially licensed for Xbox and works with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. It connects via low-latency 2.4GHz wireless or wired connection, with Bluetooth support also available for Windows, iOS, and Android devices.
A built-in 3.5mm audio jack rounds out the package, complete with on-controller volume and mic-muting controls. The Ultimate 3E ships with a multifunction charging dock that keeps the controller protected and paired.
Pre-orders are open now, with retail availability set for October 23, 2026. The controller will carry an MSRP of €139.99 in Europe and £119.99 in the UK.
