Zayn Malik has been offered a job in a crisp factory.

The 22-year-old singer quit One Direction on Wednesday in a bid to have a “normal” life and has been offered a position as Chief Taste Tester at Seabrook crisps in his hometown of Bradford, the Daily Star newspaper reports.

A letter – which features the names of some of the group’s biggest hits – penned by the brand’s marketing director Kevin Butterworth reads: “We’re very sorry to hear about your recent decision to leave One Direction, but Seabrook has an opportunity, which we hope will put a smile on your face.

“We understand your desire to live a normal life and think we might be able to assist with your request to Take Me Home, by helping you return to your roots back in Bradford…

“The role of Chief Taste Tester is up for grabs and if you’re a real Bradford lad then we’re confident if there’s One Thing you know, is what a good crisp tastes like.”
