MTV announced global superstar Nicki Minaj will return to the “VMAs” in a special performance, performing remotely from an iconic location in New York.
Dwayne Johnson, Demi Lovato, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Zendaya, Shawn Mendes, Millie Bobby Brown, Fifth Harmony, Stranger Things, Coco and more were among those who won coveted orange blimps at Nickelodeon’s 2018 Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday, March 24, 8-9:30 p.m. (ET). Hosted by WWE Superstar John Cena, the unpredictable mess-fest was broadcast from the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., where kids celebrated the best of everything they love in pop culture.
It’s that time of the year to celebrate the great stuff and MTV is excited to bring to fans a host of shows that showcase the best music and stars of 2016. These include the brand new programme MTV’s Game Changer with singer Shawn Mendes, the MTV Stars of 2016: The Results show revealing the top 10 artists of the year as voted by fans, plus four countdown specials featuring MTV’s picks of the biggest music tracks to take everyone through the New Year.
Worlds collided in a spectacle of music and stunning visuals on the 2016 MTV EMAs stage, featuring epic performances that took over Rotterdam and aired globally on 7 November. Host Bebe Rexha kicked off the global music celebration as she crashed through the ceiling to start the party, followed by superstar Bruno Mars delivering the first big global performance of his smash single 24K Magic, literally lighting up the stage with his dance moves. The show repeats tonight on MTV at 8pm (WIB) and 9pm (MY/PH/SG), and on MTV LIVE HD at 8.45pm (WIB) and 9.45pm (HK/MY/PH/SG).
Multiplatinum alternative R&B stunner The Weeknd will bring the heat to Rotterdam next Sunday at the 2016 MTV EMAs. For the first time live internationally, the Best Male nominee will perform the title track and first single from his mega-anticipated fourth full-length album Starboy, whose visual companion is also a contender for Best Video up against Kanye West, Beyoncé, Coldplay and Tame Impala. The star is also up for Best Canadian Act, representing his home country.
Afrojack and Martin Garrix are bringing the party to Rotterdam on 6 November for the 2016 MTV EMAs. Dance music icon Afrojack returns as a performer in his native Netherlands, and this will be the third EMAs performance for the 2012 “Best Dutch Act” EMA winner. Up this year for the “Best Electronic” honour, Afrojack has lent his production skills to tracks like David Guetta’s no. 1 smash “Titanium (feat. Sia)” and co-created major hits for such artists as Beyoncé, Pitbull, Ne-Yo and Nicki Minaj. The World’s No. 1 DJ Martin Garrix will return to his Dutch roots to light up the stage. Joining the party are celebrity presenters from around the world, including actresses and stars of the forthcoming action blockbuster xXx: Return of Xander Cage Nina Dobrev and Deepika Padukone; global supermodel Jourdan Dunn; Canadian activist and catwalker Winnie Harlow; and rapper, actor and current star of Netflix’s The Get Down Jaden Smith.
Three-time MTV EMA winner Bruno Mars will make a grand return to the EMAs stage for the first live global performance of his brand new single which dropped just this past Friday, “24K Magic,” LIVE at the 2016 MTV EMAs. This will be Mars’ third EMA performance as he returns to the show in the Netherlands, following his 2013 performance of “Gorilla” at the 2013 MTV EMAs in Amsterdam. Four of pop music’s biggest global breakthrough acts are joining the 2016 MTV EMAs performer lineup from around the world. Leading, multi-platinum selling artist and Canadian pop superstar “Best Male” nominee Shawn Mendes, American pop rock sensations and “Best New” candidates DNCE, Danish soul-pop band and “Best Song” contenders Lukas Graham, and Swedish global pop sensation and “Best New” nominee Zara Larsson will all travel to Rotterdam this November to take the stage at Ahoy Rotterdam on Monday, 7 November at 3am (TH/WIB) and 4am (MY/PH/SG). The show repeats on the same day at 8pm (TH/WIB) and 9pm (MY/PH/SG).

MTV International’s competition MTV Cover of the Month calls on fans across 120+ international markets to showcase their talent by asking them to cover a specific song each month, with the opportunity to highlight their talent on MTV. For now till 23 October, fans are invited to submit covers for Lukas Graham’s smash hit “7 Years”, a Best Song nominee for the 2016 MTV EMA. The fan who claims the title of winner of the year*, selected by a panel of MTV International judges, will get their own music video produced with and promoted by MTV, which will be rotated across the network’s worldwide music hours. The heat is on in Rotterdam this November! MTV today announced nominations for the 2016 MTV EMAs, with cultural icons Beyoncé and Justin Bieber leading the pack with five nominations each. Superstar Adele followed closely behind with four nods, alongside Best Rock nominees Coldplay, Best New Act nominee Lukas Graham and Best Male candidate Shawn Mendes.
