PBA: Where Will Calvin Abueva Play Next?

The PBA Commissioner’s Cup semifinals are set to get underway with the Alaska Aces taking on the defending champion San Miguel Beermen. This matchup should be something to watch although it will exclude one of the colorful players in Calvin Abueva.

Is it time for Ginebra to bring back Brownlee?

Renaldo Balkman got his wish to redeem himself with the San Miguel Beermen, replacing an ineffective Troy Gillenwater. For those who have been following the PBA drama, this was a foregone conclusion.

PBA: Gavina quits post as Kia head coach

Chris Gavina, a virtual unknown, when he first called the shots for Kia/ Mahindra, has stepped down as head coach for Kia Picanto. Tasked to take over will be veteran coach Ricky Dandan.

PBA: Nowhere to go but up for Guiao and NLEX

The NLEX Road Warriors have so far remained perfect, winning their first two assignments. They won over Kia Picanto handily (119-115) and then turned back GlobalPort Batang Pier. It is clear that the player that is standing out is rookie Kiefer Ravena.

PBA: Gilas Pilipinas likely to take a hit with Standhardinger going to SMB

There were hardly any surprises at the 2017 PBA Draft. Fil-German Christian Standhardinger was unsurprisingly selected by the San Miguel Beermen while Kiefer Ravena joined the NLEX Road Warriors.

PBA: Are the Beermen really after Standhardinger?

The controversial PBA trade between Kia Picanto and the San Miguel Beermen will push through. PBA Commissioner Chito Narvasa approved the deal Friday afternoon at a press conference held at the Philippine Arena before game 7 of the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.

PBA is a business, deal with it

Overshadowing the 2017 PBA Governors’ Cup Finals is that celebrated trade involving Kia Picanto and the San Miguel Beermen. At stake is the rights to the top overall pick of the 2017 PBA Draft set to take place this coming Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at the Midtown Atrium, Robinsons Place Manila.

PBA: SMB-Kia trade will need ‘major’ revisions

Kia Picanto owns the rights to the top overall pick of the 2017 PBA Draft and several teams are understandably trying to strike a deal. TnT KaTropa was previously linked but the latest club to pitch is the San Miguel Beermen.

June Mar Fajardo best kept out of FIBA and PBA Governors’ Cup

Gilas Pilipinas is facing tall odds at the FIBA Asia Cup in Lebanon, sorely lacking in size. Andray Blatche passed for safety reasons while June Mar Fajardo is nursing an injury.
