PVL: Motolite, BanKo-Perlas clash in key duel

Motolite bucked the absence of injured top hitter Myla Pablo and re-grouped in the decider to pull off a tough 25-16, 25-21, 19-25, 29-31, 19-17 decision in their first round elims clash with BanKo Perlas last Sept. 11. Motolite would win two of its next three games without the former National U star to firm up its semis bid with a 7-3 slate for third.

PVL: Cool Smashers overpower Power Builders

Alyssa Valdez spearheaded the Cool Smashers’ fiery offense by scoring almost at will on Zones 2 and 4 and even on Zone 6 while the rest, including Michele Gumabao, Risa Sato and Jema Galanza, provided the needed support and setter Jia Morado kept Motolite’s defense guessing with her brilliant playmaking all throughout the encounter.

PVL: Cool Smashers edge closer to crown

Regaining control with back-to-back romps in the middle sets, the Cool Smashers charged back from big deficits early in the fourth but needed a costly miscue from Cherry Nuñag to complete the come-from-behind victory, actually their 12th straight after sweeping nine games in the elims and two over the PacificTown Army Lady Troopers in the Final Four of the Reinforced Conference. #PVL
