FIBA Latest News: New site, FIBA3X3.com launched

FIBA announced the official launch of FIBA3x3.com, a one-stop-shop for 3×3, FIBA’s urban basketball discipline. The website is the place to be for the large community of fans of the 3×3 game as well as for players, media, national basketball federations, private organizers, partners and any other stakeholder.

Mid-Term Congress confirms FIBA heading in right direction

The participants voted unanimously in favor of implementing a new headgear rule. They also received updates and approved the activity report which reflects the progress made in furthering FIBA’s four pillars – National Federations Development, New Competition System, New Governance and 3×3 – since the previous congress in August 2014.

Big crowd expected at FIBA Olympic qualifier

SBP executive director Sonny Barrios said yesterday he expects an overflow crowd for the five playing days of the FIBA Olympic qualifier that will be held at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena on July 5-10 and to make the games accessible to a wider audience, there are plans for a closed-circuit coverage in movie theaters across the country and to set up giant screens in town plazas and open parking lots.

Sonny Barrios, FIBA execs hold crucial talks

The Philippines and nine other countries seeking to hold one of three Olympic Qualifying Tournaments (OQT) in July next year will have to wait until January 11 to find out which three bids have been favored by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) with the hosting rights.
