Groups urge voters to think outside of the ballot box for ‘endo’ of contractualization and elite rule
Members of partylists Ating Guro and Sanlakas, and militant organizations Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP) and Partido Lakas ng Masa (PLM), converged in front of the Manila City Hall for a short program before marching to Mendiola, under two huge red banners with the slogans: “Eleksyong walang ilusyon! Manggagawa, panghawakan ang kinabukasan! Itayo ang gobyerno ng masa!” and “End contractualizaton!, Labanan ang Pandaraya! Iwaksi ang Elitistang Paghahari!”
TAKING cue from the pronouncements made by Presidentiables in the televised debate last Sunday, members of the militant Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP) held a demonstration at the Labor department to push for the abolition of contractualization, also known as 5-5-5 brought about by the issuance of Department Order 18-A (DO) by Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz in November 2011.
MILITANT labor group challenged all candidates vying for the presidency to regularize their employees now and not simply pledge to act on contractualization only after an electoral victory in the May national elections after they unanimously expressed that they plan to abolish the contractual work scheme in the PiliPinas Debates.
Members of the militant Bukluran ng Manggagawang Pilipino (BMP) and multi-sectoral coalition Sanlakas held an indignation rally at the justice department after the Sandiganbayan granted bail to alleged pork barrel mastermind Janet Lim Napoles, incumbent Masbate governor Rizalina Seachon-Lanete and former APEC partylist representative Edgar Valdez last Wednesday.
