They have the unenviable task having to form an identity in the shadows of the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which are usually good and rarely unwatchable, and the continued glow of Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, which are seeming more and more like transcendent anomalies as we get deeper into this never-ending cycle of super humans crowding our multiplexes. Peace never reigns in the pages of DC Comics. There’s always a world to be saving, a cataclysm to avert. The making of the DC superhero team-up film “Justice League” was hardly any more tranquil.
There’s another DC TV show coming on television and DC head Geoff Johns teased fans about this in a cryptic Twitter post. The show is likely to land on The CW where “Supergirl,” “The Flash,” “Arrow” and “Legends of Tomorrow” air. It will likely take its Friday timeslot to complete a week of TV superheroes from the comic franchise
The final installment of in the saga of “Wolverine” is finally coming to theaters in 2017. By this time, Hugh Jackman will be ready to hang his claws after playing the character for almost 18 years. With the actor ready to give up the iconic role, someone who has worked in DC Comics before is said to be willing to take over as Wolverine.
Filming and TV productions are currently keeping busy in Vancouver in preparation for the start of a new TV season in the U.S. next month. With many shows stationed in Vancouver, it’s easy for actors to somehow bump into each other or perhaps drop in on each other sets while filming.
The superhero series bandwagon is not about to end as NBC has announced it will be joining the fray with a potential superhero comedy series called “Powerless.” If all things go to plan, the show will be included in the TV season slate for next year.
While ABC has announced they will not be pushing with the planned spinoff of “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD” this coming season, the network president said the project is not altogether dead.
While a third season of “Agents of the SHIELD” has yet to be officially confirmed by network ABC, the show, which is currently enjoying a decent second season run, is about to get a spinoff from Marvel.
