In the second quarter of 2018, Kaspersky Lab’s anti-phishing technologies prevented over 107 million attempts to visit phishing pages, of which 35.7% were related to financial services and targeting customers through fake banking or payment pages.

Kaspersky Lab announces that its Industrial CyberSecurity Platform has won this year’s World Leading Internet Scientific and Technological Achievement Award at the 3rd World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China this week.
Research conducted by iconKids & Youth for Kaspersky Lab has uncovered the harsh impact of Internet over-dependency among children across the globe. 55% of children were qualified by the research as dependent on the Internet. These children are twice as likely to conceal potentially risky online activities from their parents and use content, inappropriate for their age.
According to the Kaspersky Lab Spam and Phishing in Q3 report, the company’s products blocked 73,066,751 attempts to attack users with malicious attachments. This is the largest amount of malicious spam since the beginning of 2014 and is a 37% increase compared to the previous quarter. The majority of those attachments were ransomware trojan downloaders.
In the beginning, the Internet was not terrifically user-friendly — early users needed tech chops just to get online, and they had to do so over a wired, dial-up connection. Between those online pioneers’ savvy and the relatively few other Internet users, online behavior with regard to security was not a headline issue.
