PHAP and PHAPCares announce new board members for 2016

Makati City, Philippines – The Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP), a local organization of 40 pharmaceutical and healthcare manufacturers, providers, retailers and distributors, and its CSR arm, PHAPCares Foundation, recently held their annual General Membership Meeting last November 26, 2015 in Makati Diamond Residences. During the meeting, new board members were elected to replace the outgoing members and new officers were elected as well.

The new additions to the PHAP Cares Board of Trustees are: Mr. Vineet Gupta (President and General Manager of Eli Lilly Philippines, Inc.) and Dr. Justin Chin (Country President of Astra Zeneca Pharmaceuticals Philippines, Inc.). Ms. Theresa Martinez (General Manager of Roche Philippines, Inc.) meanwhile is the newest member of the PHAP Board of Trustees. Outgoing members are Ms. Violi Remo (President and Country Manager of Pfizer, Inc.) and PHAP 2015 President, Mr. Francis del Val (President and Managing Director for GSK Philippines).

Incoming officers for PHAP in 2016 are: Dr. Beaver Tamesis (President and Managing Director of MSD) as President, Dr. Nikolaos Tripodis (President and Managing Director of Novartis Healthcare Philippines, Inc.) as Vice President, and Mr. Raymund Azurin (President and CEO of Zuellig Pharma Corporation) as Treasurer. The following will serve as Trustees: Ms. Lourdes Magno (President of Hi-Eisai Pharmaceutical, Inc.), Mr. Carlito Realuyo (General Manager of Sanofi-Aventis Philippines, Inc.), Mr. Ramonito Tampos (President and Managing Director of Merck Inc. Philippines), along with Mr. del Val and Ms. Martinez.

Incoming officers for PHAPCares Foundation in 2016 are: Ms. Lourdes Magno as President, Mr. Vineet Gupta as Vice President, Dr. Justin Chin as Treasurer, with Dr. Tamesis, Dr. Tripodis, Mr. Azurin, and Mr. Tampos as Trustees.

PHAP has been in the service of Filipinos for almost 70 years, collectively producing accessible, quality and life-saving medicines for all. The organization also partners with government, medical professions and non-government organizations in improving the overall healthcare situation in the country, aiming to help Filipinos live longer and healthier.
