PBA trade involving Terence Romeo purely fiction

All is quiet on the PBA front following a rocky week triggered by that celebrated Kia-SMB trade. The status of commissioner Chito Narvasa remains unknown though his fate is expected to be deliberated on when the PBA board leaves for its annual planning session in Los Angeles, California this Friday.

Right now, the focus is on the upcoming stint of Gilas Pilipinas for the upcoming FIBA World Cup qualifiers. Despite a divided PBA, top stars like June Mar Fajardo, Calvin Abueva and Japeth Aguilar have come out as the Philippines ramps up preparations for their upcoming match against Japan in Tokyo on Nov. 24.

Curiously, one player who has yet to practice with Gilas is Terence Romeo. According to the Tie Breaker Times, the Globalport Batang Pier visited the second session but sat on the sidelines. Is he injured or recuperating?

An official report on Romeo’s status has yet to be revealed. Curiously, his name was dragged into a celebrated PBA trade. A viral report came out recently alleging that Meralco was offering Baser Amer and Chris Newsome in exchange for Romeo.

Seeing how the PBA is still reeling from that controversial Kia-SMB trade, fans have been trying to fantasize about their own. The outrageous trade suggestion that reportedly originated from a sleepy YouTuber (per Powcast.net) is nothing more than wishful thinking and something that can only happen in a fantasy league.

It makes no sense for Globalport to trade their star player at this point. Also, team owner Mikee Romero previously declared that he would never trade Romeo or Stanley Pringle, in a report by Spin.ph last year.

Also, if ever there is a trade, a more believable scenario would be to hear the name of Stanley Pringle. Fans saw that celebrated spat he had with head coach Franz Pumaren last July, an altercation that has since been settled.

Until an actual report from a credible person or source comes out, no major moves loom over the horizon for GlobalPort.
